Cookies & privacy choices
Last updated: 12 October 2026
We keep optional services off unless you choose to enable them. Declining optional services does not prevent you reading the website, contacting Paul or viewing the workshop still image.
What this website uses
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| pc-autos-privacy-v1 | First-party local storage, not a cookie. Remembers whether you allowed the external workshop film, with a policy version, timestamp and expiry. Essential to remember your choice; saved only when you choose. | 180 days. Checked on your next visit and ignored after expiry. Browser data can be cleared earlier. |
| External workshop film | Optional request to Amazon CloudFront. Off until consent; the provider receives your IP address and browser connection information. This is a direct video file, not a social-video embed. No advertising or analytics cookies are intentionally set by the player. | Requests occur during loading/playback. Provider server-log retention is separate from browser storage. |
The theme does not set analytics or advertising cookies. WordPress uses essential cookies for administrator login and may use a login test cookie; these are separate from the public website’s optional film choice. Fonts and still images are hosted with this website. Hosting infrastructure may use strictly necessary security measures to protect and deliver pages; these are separate from optional marketing or analytics and cannot be switched off by this preference control.
Accept, decline or change your choice
“Decline optional” prevents the external film from loading. “Accept optional film” enables only that film; it does not subscribe you to marketing or enable analytics. Manage choices lets you switch the film on or off. Both options use the same preference record.
You can withdraw permission at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. The player is removed and no new optional film loads are started. Requests already made before withdrawal cannot be recalled. Clearing browser data removes the saved choice. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice lasts only for the current page session and optional services default to off on a new visit.
Browser privacy signals
When Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is enabled, optional media stays off, even if you previously accepted it. No targeted advertising or sale/sharing mechanism is enabled by this website. You can still use the site normally.
